Ukraine’s Zelensky Says Strong U.S.-Ukraine Ties Benefit the World

Kyiv: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated on Thursday that strong relations between Ukraine and the United States are in the best interest of the entire world.

Zelensky made the remarks after a “constructive meeting” with Keith Kellogg, the U.S. special representative for Ukraine and Russia. Their discussions covered the battlefield situation, the process of returning prisoners of war, and security guarantees for Ukraine if the war comes to an end.

Keith Kellogg stated that his visit to Kyiv aimed to hear the perspectives of Ukrainian officials and convey them to Trump. However, Ukraine remains concerned that Trump may lean toward Russia’s preferred conditions for ending the war.

The meeting comes amid the rising tensions between Trump and Zelensky on social media where Zelensky accused Trump of living in Russian ''Disinformation" while Trump responded with calling Zelensky a dictator.

U.S vice president J.D. Vance, defended Trump's position, saying that Trump’s priority is to stop the bloodshed in Ukraine and that achieving peace aligns with the interests of the American people. “After the Riyadh meeting, we are on the brink of peace,” Vance claimed.

Meanwhile, White House National Security Advisor Michael Waltz criticized Ukraine’s complaints about U.S. policy, calling them “unacceptable.” Waltz urged Zelensky to moderate his rhetoric and sign a minerals deal with the U.S.

Speaking to Fox News, Waltz emphasized that Ukraine should adjust its tone and carefully assess the proposed agreement, which would grant the U.S. access to Ukraine’s natural resources in exchange for continued American aid.

U.S. officials have reiterated that Washington will play a role in any agreement between Moscow and Kyiv and that compromises must be considered to secure peace.
